J.D. Arndt


Coach Arndt is a graduate of Missouri Baptist University and has over 25 years of experience coaching baseball all every level of the game. A former minor league manager and hitting coach, he led his teams to multiple league championships in the Frontier League. His teams normally led the league in team batting average and also coached 4 individual batting champions.

Coach Arndt has also coached at the college level for 16 years and currently is the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach at Centre College in Danville, Ky. Over those 16 years he has coached 25 All-Americans and 50 First Team All Conference players.

Coach Arndt isn’t a rookie in the collegiate summer league either, he has been a head coach in the Alaskan Baseball League, the Great Lakes League and also the Southern Collegiate League. Coach Arndt is definitely known around baseball as a hitting guru but the Henderson Flash family have already seen his commitment and passion as a leader with his dedication in helping our management team get ready for our inaugural season in the OVL.


Brandon Mattingly

Pitching Coach

Coach Mattingly is a graduate of the University of Louisville, he started his collegiate career out as a Pitcher at Purdue University until a shoulder injury ended his playing days. After college he began coaching a highly touted high school travel team called the Louisville Vipers. After a couple of years handling all pitching responsibilities for the Vipers, Coach Mattingly recently accepted a job as an assistant coach and pitching coach at Asbury University. His responsibilities at Asbury include handling all in game strategies with pitchers as well as taking care of all the in-season and off-season development. He also is in charge of recruiting pitchers for Asbury as well as setting up the strength and conditioning program for the staff.


Cody Berryhill

Assistant Coach

Coach Berryhill is a graduate of the Mississippi State University, prior to finishing his degree at MSU he played two years of college baseball at East Mississippi Community College and played his final year at Southwest Mississippi Community College. Coach Berryhill was involved with Mississippi State’s program over 4 years as an instructor for their baseball camps. Since then he has began his coaching career at the high school level with 1 year as an Asst. Coach at New Hope High School in New Hope, MS and most recently as the Head Coach for the past 2 years at Scott Central High School in Forest, MS.
