Former Henderson Flash pitcher Andy Samuelson selected by Atlanta Braves in MLB Draft

HENDERSON, Ky. – Andy Samuelson, who pitched last summer for the Henderson Flash, was selected by the Atlanta Braves Wednesday in the 12th round of the Major League Baseball Draft. 

Samuelson, a native of LaPorte, Indiana, is a left-hander who just completed his sophomore season at Wabash Valley College in Illinois. 

Samuelson had a 1-0 record this spring in 16 relief appearances for Wabash Valley, which finished 55-4. He had a 2.93 earned run average with 29 strikeouts in 15 1/3 innings. 

Last summer, Samuelson pitched in 12 games for Flash and had an 0-1 record with two saves. He struck out 20 in 12 1/3 innings and had 10.94 earned run average. 

He committed to continue his college career at North Carolina State University in the fall.
