The Flash built a 5 run lead in the fifth inning and then held off the Oilers late charge in the 9th to get their first win of the season (and franchise) 6-4. Henderson captured the lead early on a ground out by catcher Fernando Villegas scoring Joe Logsdon. The Flash got a good first start from lefty pitcher Seth Wicker throwing 4 innings and only giving up 2 runs. Owensboro tied the game at 1, but the Flash took the lead for good in the 5th inning by scoring 4 runs on 3 walks, a wild pitch and two errors. Dillon Day was strong for 4.1 innings striking out 7 and only allowing 2 runs while picking up the win! Never a dull moment at the ballpark thou, the Oilers loaded the bases in the bottom of the 9th with only 1 out, Coach JD Arndt went to the pen to bring out his young gun Logan Workman to close out the game with blazing fastballs striking out one and causing the last Oiler to ground out to first to end the game and pick up the save. Robby McGaha, Joe Logsdon, Zach Smith and Fernando Villegas all had two hits a piece while the Flash totaled 12 hits for the game. Next up for the Flash (weather pending) will be Owensboro again at home today at 7:00.
